Snowy rainy day in DC

We could only do this session on one day because this family was only together very briefly from a few different directions (and countries). Of course that meant snow mixed with freezing cold pouring rain in downtown DC that day! Of course! We made it work by shooting at their hotel and at the Kennedy Center. We even braved the weather a few times behind the Kennedy Center but it got cold fast!

Fall in Silver Spring

It was great to do photos for this awesome family again! I did photos for them when Sophia was just 3 and it was super fun to see her again a few years older. Lots of personality!!!

Sweet Sweet Baby

Three years ago I photographed Seth and Rob’s awesome wedding and I was thrilled when they recently asked me to take photos of their beautiful baby girl. At only 8 weeks old she was already interested in the camera (when she wasn’t sleeping:)). Congratulations you guys!!!

From the Fall snow

Snow. (in October)

I wasn’t really expecting snow to be something to worry about for a late-October session but it sure was beautiful against the colored leaves. I loved taking photos of this family! They were such great sports about the extra-cold snow-covered morning!

Medical Devices Conference

I did the photography for the Medical Device Manufacturers Association’s annual conference this summer in Georgetown. This group helps the smaller medical device businesses have a voice in the government, especially with the strict regulation and very lengthy approval process from the FDA. (OK yes I listened to the presentations as I was taking photos!).  A lot of the people attending have invented or manufactured such important devices used in hospitals and in many peoples’ every day lives. Dean Kamen, the inventor of the Segway, gave an incredible presentation where he highlighted his latest prosthetic arm (designed specifically for vets who lost both arms) and the problems he has had getting it approved by the FDA. He also talked about his awesome non-profit organization, FIRST, and inspiring kids to push into science. Here are some of the photos from the event.
