Welcome

Hi and welcome to my family/friends blog! If you are looking for the KelPhoto professional blog, just click here!

Just one!

of Sydney who is now an expert at sitting and is starting to already make attempts at moving forward and no, I’m soooo not ready!!

Congratulations Lauren and Micheal!

Micheal proposed to Lauren this past weekend when we were all in Charlottesville!! They went for a walk in the woods on a beautiful clear crisp fall day, would have been the absolutely perfect opportunity for a proposal if my dad hadn’t tagged along with them :) !  It was still perfect though, as far as we can tell, when Micheal found an alternate location.  We are so so excited for you guys!

Chelsea Lee in the Post today!

You might remember some posts on this blog about the incredibly talented singer and songwriter Chelsea Lee.  She is really doing super well and there are a couple of articles about her out right now!  If you see today’s (Saturday) Washington Post, check out the back page of the Style section and you’ll see her in a photo by yours truly!  Also check out the October Washingtonian Magazine, Chelsea is on the cover!! The photo I took is also in that article! Congratulations, Chelsea, I wish you the very best!!!

Here’s a snapshot of the Style back page:

Sydney, 5 months!

She's doing all sorts of fun things - playing peek-a-boo, sticking out her tongue (in fact she just started combining the 2 last night - now when I see her after she 'hides' she has her tongue sticking out!)  Her second tooth is just coming through and she has a cold :( which doesn't seem to bother her much, thank goodness!  She's just a happy baby.

Peek-a-boo!

the tongue:

It’s going too fast!

My baby is getting her first tooth already!  She's not even 5 months!  It's already been flying by even faster than you'd think because she's a big baby (19 lbs at her 4.5 month check-up!) but I wasn't prepared for teeth yet!

Here she is last week.  I've got to get faster at putting these up!

Elmo! (and also his friends)

When we ask Katherine who she saw yesterday she says "ELMO!!! AND his friends".  We took her to Baltimore for Sesame Street Live and yes, she LOVED it.  It was really really fantastic seeing Katherine so incredibly excited, I didn't watch the show very much but just watched Katherine watching it.  We felt a little under-dressed, most kids and families were wearing Elmo attire.  I'm so glad we aren't at that level (and won't ever be, thank you!).

We only brought the point-and-shoot, here are a few snapshots.  It was too dark to get any of Katherine watching though :(

Ready to go with her Elmo backpack (apparently he enjoyed the show as well). This doesn't count as attire, right?

We had to stop for dinner first

Awww, sisters

Katherine has been begging for her and Sydney to wear their matching dresses but I always tell her it's too hot.  Finally on Saturday it was pouring rain and a bit cooler so I gave in.  She was extremely pleased, as you can imagine.  And Sydney is tripoding/sitting really well all of a sudden so I got a few extras of her the next day!

Summer coming to an end

Or the end of the pool season at least. I wish they'd stay open a little longer, it's definitely hot enough!  We will miss the pool…

The Girls

Still busy around here!  I will be blogging more though, I promise!

Here is Sydney, just hanging out (as Katherine likes to say)

I wanted to get some pics of Katherine doing her peacock dance.  She wants to be a peacock for Halloween.  This is the dress (that my friend Marina made for her and also one for her baby doll!) that she always wears when performing her peacock dance.  Today, though, she was not in a performing mood. Oh well, I'll try again.  Sometimes she looks so much older than 2.5.

Her first dandelion, we told her to make a wish and blow.  She blew on the wrong end but I think her wish will still come true.

Her baby, on the phone with Halmony (Alex's mom)

Don't worry, Sydney gets a turn too
